Does an Aggie pledge take a shot at the 2018 Longhorn commitments on social media?

Posted June 6th, 2017

Tom Herman and staff have been on a heater with acquiring commitments to his 2018 recruiting class. In a little over a week, he has secured the pledge of one of the state’s top running backs, an out-of-state, top 300 middle linebacker and two Texas safeties – Demarvion Overshown and B.J. Foster, the highest-ranked prospect at his position in the nation.

Clearly Herman is building momentum by nabbing the best defensive backfield prospects in the state. Along with Overshown and Foster, the staff was also able to flip the commitment of Cibolo Steele safety Caden Sterns from LSU to the Longhorns at the beginning of May. Texas’ 2018 class currently has three of the state’s four top safety prospects.

The Longhorn recruiting momentum was blunted a bit last week when two Fabulous 55 members committed to Texas A&M’s 2018 class. One of those commitments, Leon O’Neal plays safety and completes an in-state program sweep of the top four prospects of that position.

Now that O’Neal has pledged his college career to the Aggies, does he take time to throw shade at the Longhorns and his fellow DBs in the 2018 class? He sent out these two messages via Twitter Monday:

Seems like a shot across the bow toward Austin.
