Former University of Texas forward Brianna Taylor has been named the director of women’s basketball operations at the University of Nebraska Omaha, UT officials announced Monday.
In addition to her responsibilities with the Omaha women’s basketball team, the 2017 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year will pursue her master’s degree in health behavior at UNO.
“I’m excited to join the basketball staff at Omaha,” Taylor said. “I wasn’t to thank Coach [Brittany] Lange for giving me this great opportunity to begin my career in college athletics and to continue my education at UNO. My college basketball experience was meaningful and helped shape who I am as a person. I am looking forward to carrying my lifelong passion for basketball and college athletics into helping both our program and our student-athletes succeed here at Omaha.”
Taylor helped Texas to four NCAA Tournament appearances, including three Sweet 16 showings and an Elite Eight appearance in 2015-16.
“We are very fortunate to welcome another young, rising coach to our staff,” Omaha head coach Brittany Lange said. “Brianna comes from one of the elite programs in the country at Texas and understands what it takes to transform a program into a national contender.”
