The Longhorns had a chance to win the game in regulation, but kicker Joshua Rowland missed a 45-yard field goal as time expired.
After Heard’s touchdown grab, Kansas State answered with an 8-yard touchdown run by quarterback Alex Delton to send the game into a second overtime tied 34-34.
