Hookem.com asked Texas fans to “Sound Off” on our Facebook page after they watched the Longhorns struggle mightily in a 24-7 loss to No. 8-ranked TCU.
As you can imagine, we got plenty of responses from frustrated and deflated fans after UT only produced 263 offensive yards and one first-half touchdown. Here’s a sample of some popular responses. They have been edited for space and clarity.
Josh Seale: Worst offensive line in the country. This is Charlie Strong’s horrible recruiting. Those of you blaming Tom Herman don’t understand football.
Mike Bell: There’s no doubt Herman is working with whatever he has to do something, but I don’t pin this on Strong. As someone else said, a lot of linemen left with Charlie, and the injuries along our line are ridiculous.
Dan Napier: There you Fox News watching Trumpsters go again! Always playing the blame game and the victim! It’s Pee Wee Herman’s team and Pee Wee is responsible for this debacle. Pee Wee Herman bragged all spring about how good the team would be because of his culture. You asked for Pee Wee Herman and you’ve got him!
Tony Harral: TCU is smart. Stick with a coach for 17 years and see what happens. Gary Patterson is not flashy but he gets the job done. He has had time to get a program together without worrying about his job. Hell, if Herman doesn’t win the Big 12 next year Texas will be calling for his job.
J Ryan Caruthers: Just a boring game, honestly. If it weren’t for the best punter in the nation Michael Dickson, it would have been more like 52-7.
