Mack Brown hasn’t coached in a long time, but that hasn’t stopped him from being linked to some high profile head coaching jobs.
Rick Neuheisel of CBS Sports said that Mack Brown would be the perfect choice for Tennessee, who fired Butch Jones over the weekend.

The irony of Mack Brown technically coaching at “UT” while wearing orange again isn’t lost. Brown’s tenure with Texas didn’t end on a high note, but he did bring the Longhorns back to national prominence. He’s a guy that would be great to serve as head coach for a couple more years, and if he has the fire, he might be able to bring Tennessee back from the depths they’re currently in.
At Texas, Brown notched a 158-48 record. While his last few seasons were under par, the Longhorns still only missed a bowl game once during Brown’s tenure. Outside of that 5-7 2010 campaign, the lowest amount of wins Brown accrued in a season was eight. Needless to say, Mack Brown absolutely has the capability of turning Tennessee around.
