Meet the new Longhorns: Reese Moore provides upside at offensive tackle

Posted December 20th, 2017

Reese Moore, offensive tackle, Seminole

FYI: 6-6/265; 3 stars; No. 409-ranked player in nation, per 247Sports Composite

Fabulous 55 ranking: 46

Committed: April 23

Scouting report: The 6-foot-6, 265-pound three-star prospect plays tight end in high school, earning first-team all-district honors as a junior. He also plays on Seminole’s basketball team and runs track. It is rare to find large prep athletes with decent footwork. That’s exactly what Texas found in Moore, a prep tight end and basketball player who is extremely athletic and nimble for a young athlete his size.

Moore won’t be 18 until he’s on campus, so his upside and room for growth, as a player and a person, is elite. Moore could easily add an inch or two to his body and once he focuses on football, it should be relatively easy for him to reach 300 pounds within a year or two of being in a collegiate strength and conditioning program. Right now, it is hard for Moore to keep on extra weight because of his duties on the basketball court and on the track.

Once he’s at Texas, Moore will only be tasked with adding weight and strength to his frame to become a future star at offensive tackle.
