Social reaction: Texas basketball players, coaches, rivals support Andrew Jones in fight against leukemia

The Texas basketball community was rocked on Wednesday with the news that sophomore guard Andrew Jones has been diagnosed with leukemia.

“He has begun treatments, and we hope everyone will keep him in your thoughts and prayers,” said a statement released by Jones’ family. “This is obviously a difficult situation for our family, and we hope everyone will respect our privacy at this time.”
The news was immediately met with support from near and far on social media. Here is some of what teammates, coaches, rivals and more had to say upon learning of Jones’ diagnosis.
