Ghim, Scheffler, Hall earn Golfweek All-America honors

The Texas men’s golf team had three players named to Golfweek’s All-America teams.

Big 12 player of the year Doug Ghim and junior standout Scottie Scheffler were selected to the first team and Texas junior Gavin Hall was named an honorable mention All-American.

Scheffler, who is competing in the U.S. Open this weekend, won the East Lake Cup and finished in the top-10 seven times this season. He led Texas with a 71.00 stroke average and shot at or under par in 24 of 37 rounds. He led after two rounds of the NCAA Championships and finished tied for third place.


Ghim had seven top-10 finishes and won UT’s Longhorn Shootout. Ghim was the runner-up at the Big 12 Championship, helping Texas win its fifth straight conference crown.

Hall finished in the top-20 ten times this season and tied for 11th place at the NCAA Championships
