Texas G Isaiah Taylor likely to play Friday at Oklahoma State

Posted March 1st, 2016

Texas coach Shaka Smart said injured guard Isaiah Taylor could sit an entire month to get beyond the plantar fasciitis in his right heel.

“We obviously don’t have the luxury of doing that,” Smart said Tuesday at his weekly press conference.

Taylor, who barely could walk on Sunday because of sharp pains, wore a walking boot Monday and then played 28 minutes in an 86-56 loss to No. 1 Kansas. Texas’ next game is Friday’s regular-season finale at Oklahoma State (12-18, 3-14 Big 12).

“I would be amazed if he sits out Friday,” Smart said. “He lives for one thing — to play basketball.”

Taylor is the Horns’ leader in points (15.1) and assists (4.9).
