Boo Weekley and Daniel Berger made a push, but former Longhorn Jordan Spieth birdied three of the last four holes to maintain a one-shot lead at the PGA Travelers Championship following the third round in Cromwell, Conn.

Spieth shot 66 at the TPC River Highlands, improving from Friday’s round by three strokes. He sits at 12 under par for the tournament with 18 left to play, one shot ahead of Weekley.

On No. 18 Spieth regained sole possession of the lead with this stellar 20-foot putt.

Weekley shot a 65 on the day with the help of seven birdies, including five on the back nine. Berger shot 66 with the help of four birdies on the back nine. Neither could stop Spieth’s late rally.

The Texas ex made two crucial birdies on 15 and 16 to recover from two straight bogeys. He hit his first shot on 15 in the bunker, but put the ball eight inches to the hole on his second stroke. He birdied the par-3 No. 16 with the help of a tee shot that landed less than six feet from the hole.

Here’s his second shot on No. 15 that nearly went in for eagle.

Spieth made seven birdies in the third round and will look to lead wire-to-wire in Sunday’s final round.
