Texas improved its winning streak to 18 games by defeating Kansas 75-42 in a Big 12 women’s basketball game Saturday at the Erwin Center.

Joyner Holmes led a balanced attack with 15 points to go along with 13 rebounds. Kelsey Lang contributed 10 points and six boards.

Texas improved to 20-4, 14-0 in the Big 12. Kansas is 8-17, 2-12.

Texas used an 11-0 scoring run to end the second quarter to take a 36-18 lead at the half. UT’s domination of the game could be seen in first-half stat. Texas owned a 20-2 lead in points in the paint, 18-0 in fast-break points and owned a 10-0 edge in blocked shots.

Texas defeated Kansas 66-54 on Jan. 4 at KU.

Before the game Lang and Brooke McCarty were honored for scoring the 1,000th points of their careers.

UT’s next game will be an ESPN Big Monday showdown at No. 5 Florida State. The Longhorns return to Big 12 action against Oklahoma on Saturday in Norman. Game time is 1 p.m.
