The Texas women’s golf team claimed fourth place at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii on Wednesday. The Longhorns shot a 297 to finish the tournament at 10-over, 14 shots behind Oklahoma State who finished in first place by virtue of a tiebreaker over Texas A&M.
Julia Beck finished at 2-under par to take sixth place for the third top-10 finish of her career. She shot a 72 on the day, 214 overall, and finished the tournament with 12 birdies.
Sophia Schubert just missed a top-10 finish as she shot 219, 3-over for a share of 11th place.
Natalie Karcher ended the tournament one stroke behind Schubert and in a tie for 13th place.
Haley Mills shot a 225, 9-over for a tie for 28th while Maddie Luitwieler finished at 13-over, tied for 38th, after shooting 229 for the tournament.
Anne Hakula and Tezira Abe each competed as individuals for Texas. Hakula finished at 8-over for a tie for 24th while Abe ended in a tie for 31st place at 10-over-par.
Thanya Pattamakijsak of Texas A&M took medalist honors at 208, 8-under-par, three shots better than teammate Bianca Fabrizio and Oklahoma State’s Maddie McCrary.
