Montrel Meander’s sexual assault charge dropped
Posted October 22nd, 2015
A sexual assault charge against former Texas football player Montrel Meander has been dropped, according to district attorney Andrea Austin.
This was expected since last week when another former UT player, Kendall Sanders, was found not guilty of sexual assault after a week-long jury trial in district court. Meander’s case was considered the weaker of the two because the alleged victim in the case admitted that she initially consented to sex with Meander before withdrawing her consent once Sanders began participating.
Sanders was acquitted after a jury deliberated for more than four hours and rendered a not guilty verdict on Friday.
