OU fans are not happy about team’s Kevin Durant shoes

Posted January 5th, 2017

That Red River Rivalry runs deep. Despite the fact that he was only a true Longhorn for one season, University of Oklahoma fans do not take kindly to Kevin Durant. Or his shoes, for that matter.

OU’s men’s basketball program recently posted a picture of a pair of red and white KD9s to the team’s Instagram page announcing the “new kicks” players would be sporting, and OU fans did not respond with a stamp of approval.

As one commenter noted, “The irony is literally cringe.” Another called the shoes, “The worst decision made in Oklahoma since KD decided to leave Thunder.”

Needless to say, it seems the shoes’ crimson and cream colors aren’t enough to wash the burnt orange off Kevin Durant for OU fans.
