At season’s midway point, Texas slugger Kody Clemens on two publications’ All-American radar

Posted April 5th, 2018

In addition to statistics, Texas junior Kody Clemens has been stockpiling awards at this season’s midway point.

On Thursday, Clemens was named to the first team of D1Baseball’s Mid-season All-America team. The recognition of Clemens came a day after the second baseman was placed on Perfect Game/Rawlings’ mid-season honor roll.

Clemens leads UT in batting average (.357), home runs (eight), RBIs (30) and runs (28). No player in the Big 12 has hit more home runs than Clemens, who also ranks second in the conference with his 25 walks. With 24 games left on the regular season’s schedule, Clemens has already set career-highs in home runs and RBIs.

This weekend, Texas (19-12; 6-3) will host Baylor (14-13; 3-6) for a three-game series that begins on Friday.
