Where it went right: Already ahead 4-0, Texas exploded for a five-run fifth, including a bases-clearing double by Kacy Clemens. It was the second straight game Clemens has driven in three runs with a hit; he homered on Sunday against Cal.

The starter: Morgan Cooper was excellent in his second Tuesday start, striking out a career-high eight batters over six full innings and 81 pitches. At one point, Cooper retired 11 straight batter before plucking a batter in the fifth. Cooper finished three innings with a strikeout, including a 10-pitch at-bat against No. 8 hitter Taylor Beane in the fifth. He surrendered three hits and just one after the first inning.

Top hitter: Kacy Clemens, 1-3, 2B, BB, two runs, 3 RBI.
