Texas and Tennessee Tech to battle at UFCU Disch-Falk Field for a ticket to the College World Series

Posted June 4th, 2018

Texas is not done playing baseball at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

Texas has earned the right to host Tennessee Tech in a super regional. The first-ever meeting between the two schools was set up by the Golden Eagles’ 15-5 and 3-2 wins over Ole Miss on Monday. The Longhorns (40-20) won their regional this past weekend and are the NCAA’s 13th overall seed. Tennessee Tech (52-10) was the second seed out of Ole Miss’ regional.

Texas, which last hosted a super regional in 2014, is 30-7 at UFCU Disch-Falk Field this season.

The NCAA has not yet announced the times of the games in Texas and Tennessee Tech’s super regional. The best-of-three series, though, will be held from June 8-10.

UFCU Disch-Falk Field is also the site of the UIL’s Class 4A baseball tournament this week. That competition is scheduled to conclude on Thursday.

UPDATE (10:21 p.m.): Texas announced on Monday night that it had quickly sold out of tickets for the super regional.
