Posted June 5th, 2018

The NCAA has announced the official dates and times of the super regional featuring Texas and Tennessee Tech.

Saturday and Sunday’s games at UFCU Disch-Falk Field will be played at 2 p.m., and both games will be televised on ESPN2. If necessary, a third game in the best-of-three series is slotted for Monday. The first pitch for that game would be at noon.

The weather forecast for this weekend currently calls for 96-degree highs on Saturday and Sunday.

“We practice in the heat every single day,” junior Josh Sawyer said on Tuesday morning. “It will be a little hot, but we’re used to it. most of us have played in Texas our entire lives, playing in the heat, summer ball all that kind of stuff. We’ll be used to the heat and we’ll be ready to go.”

Texas last hosted a super regional in 2014. The school announced on Monday night that it had sold out of tickets for the upcoming event.

Texas (40-20) and Tennessee Tech (52-10) have never played before.
