Aldine Davis four-star linebacker Jeffrey McCulloch chose Texas on signing day over Notre Dame, Stanford and Texas A&M.
McCulloch (6-2, 230 pounds) was considered to be one of the top remaining targets on the Longhorns’ recruiting board. He is the No. 16 player on the American-Statesman’s Fab 55 and is the nation’s No. 59 prospect, according to 247Sports’ composite ratings.
At Texas, McCulloch joins a young core of linebackers that also includes Malik Jefferson, Anthony Wheeler and Ed Freeman.
McCulloch is the eighth player to commit to Texas in the past two days, following RB Kyle Porter, DTs D’Andre Christmas-Giles, Marcel Southall and Chris Daniels, safeties Brandon Jones and Chris Brown, and linebacker Erick Fowler.
