Texas in the mix for 4-star defensive back Houston Griffith

Posted June 15th, 2017

Four-star defensive back Houston Griffith has narrowed his college choices and the University of Texas is in the mix.

The son of Super Bowl Champion Howard Griffith, Houston Griffith is Chicago product who is currently at the IMG Academy. The 6-foot-1-inch, 192 pound Class of 2018 member played cornerback last season. According to his Twitter post announcing the news, he is also including Florida State, Penn State, Alabama, Nebraska, Ohio State and Notre Dame in his seen schools listed as finalists for his signature.

The exclusion of the University of Illinois is a hit to that program as Houston Griffith’s father was a standout player for the Fighting Illini, rushing for more than 3,000 yards in Champaign and is also a Big Ten Network analyst.
