Posted July 20th, 2016

After dispatching Puerto Rico 103-70 on Tuesday, Team USA’s U18 team moves onto the U.S. Virgin Islands today for its second game of the FIBA Americas U18 tournament.

Led by Texas basketball coach Shaka Smart and featuring two future Longhorns in Jarrett Allen and James Banks, Team USA made quick work of Puerto Rico.

“I think we played pretty well for it being our first game,” Allen told reporters afterward. “We had spurts where we played slow and had too many turnovers, but once we got into our groove, we got better.”

Allen scored 18 points for Team USA.
