Men's basketball teams meet in first round of Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.

Texas and Texas A&M are finally renewing their long-standing rivalry. In men’s basketball, anyway. Far, far from home, too.

The Longhorns and Aggies will be matched against each other in the opening round of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament over Thanksgiving weekend in the Bahamas. The game is scheduled for Nov. 25 and will be televised by AXS TV.

Other teams in the field include Charlotte, Connecticut, Gonzaga, Michigan, Syracuse and Washington.

Texas and Washington could meet in the tournament’s second round almost two weeks after they play in Shanghai, China. The two teams open the season during an international trip organized by the Pac-12 Conference.

Texas and A&M have not met regularly since the Aggies joined the Southeastern Conference before the 2012-13 school year. The baseball teams met in a NCAA regional in 2014, and their women’s basketball teams played a regular-season game in December.
