Last year, the Owls played in a bowl game for the third straight season, a first in program history. They crushed Fresno State 30-6 in the Hawaii Bowl to finish 8-5. Owls quarterback Driphus Jackson (2,842 yards, 24/8) — the Hawaii Bowl MVP — returns, but he lost many of his 2014 weapons. David Baliff enters his ninth season at Rice.

Rice hasn’t beaten Texas since 1994, a string of 12 Longhorns wins.
