Texas faces Kansas-TCU winner in tournament

Longhorns swept both teams

The Texas women’s basketball team will play either TCU or Kansas in a second-round game Saturday in Oklahoma City. Tipoff is 6 p.m. at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

TCU and Kansas face off in a play-in game at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Texas swept both teams during the regular season.

If the Longhorns win, they will play in the semifinals at 4 p.m. Sunday. The Big 12 championship game is at 8 p.m. Monday.


Here is the full schedule for the tournament that runs Friday through Monday:

Friday, March 4 (FCS)
Game 1:       No. 8 Iowa State vs. No. 9 Texas Tech, 6 p.m.
Game 2:       No. 7 TCU vs. No. 10 Kansas, 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, March 5 (FSN)
Game 3:       No. 4 Oklahoma State vs. No. 5 Oklahoma, 11 a.m.
Game 4:       No. 1 Baylor vs. Game 1 Winner, 1:30 p.m.
Game 5:       No. 2 Texas vs. Game 2 Winner, 6 p.m.
Game 6:       No. 3 West Virginia vs. No. 6 K-State, 8:30 p.m.

Sunday, March 6 (FS1)
Game 7:       Game 3 Winner vs. Game 4 Winner, 1:30 p.m.
Game 8:       Game 5 Winner vs. Game 6 Winner, 4 p.m.

Monday, March 7 (FS1)
Game 9:       Game 7 Winner vs. Game 8 Winner, 8 p.m.

Single-session tickets for the Big 12 women’s tournament are $25 and $20, plus applicable fees.

All spectators beginning at age two must have a ticket to enter the arena. One session will be played on Friday night with two sessions on Saturday and one session each on Sunday and Monday.

Tickets will be available through Big12Sports.com/BuyTickets.  They can also be purchased at the Chesapeake Energy Arena box through  Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The box office accepts Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express and cash as methods of payment.
