The Eyes of Texas: Three Horned Frogs the Horns will be watching
Posted November 25th, 2016
On Friday against TCU, the eyes of Texas will be upon …
KENNY HILL, QUARTERBACK
A transfer from Texas A&M, Hill has had his ups and downs during a junior year in which he’s thrown for nearly 3,000 yards and rushed for seven touchdowns. Hill has topped 400 passing yards three times, and he had five touchdowns against Oklahoma. That Oct. 1 game against the Sooners, however, was the last time that Hill has exceeded 250 passing yards.
KAVONTAE TURPIN, WIDE RECEIVER
A knee injury cost Turpin a few games this season, but his 29 receptions rank third among the Horned Frogs. A dangerous kick and punter returner, Turpin is also a two-time Big 12 special teams player of the week honoree. Turpin has scored twice, and he’ll absolutely attract the eyes of Texas. Why? Well, he caught four touchdown passes in last year’s 50-7 rout of Texas.
NICK ORR, SAFETY
Orr has four of the Horned Frogs’ seven interceptions, and the junior has broken up five passes. Orr also has 63 tackles. TCU ranks sixth in the Big 12 in pass defense (256.5 yards per game), but hasn’t allowed a 300-yard passer since Oct. 8, when Kansas’ Ryan Willis went for 348.
