Scouting Waddle: His 5-9 frame contains a mountain of big-play potential. Waddle is a slot receiver prospect with versatility — he can help an offense as a third-down running back and a returner. His size gives him advantage in tight spaces. He’s quicker than most opponents and this allows him to get open underneath, make a defender miss, then escape for a long play. His lack of height makes getting vertical a challenge, but he more than makes up for it with his ability after the catch. He’s a tough tackle for any secondary.

Waddle does the most damage working underneath patterns. He’s nearly impossible to jam at the line of scrimmage and he gets in and out of breaks as fast as any prospect in the state. Wide receiver is a loaded position for 2018, but most of those prospects will play on the outside. Waddle is a four-star slot prospect with position versatility and the type of athleticism to contribute on special teams and on gadget plays as a freshman. He makes any offense more dynamic because of his big-play potential.
