The Texas Longhorns soccer team moved to 6-0 for the first time in school history as they topped No. 25 Colorado 3-0 at Myers Stadium Friday night.
Katie Glenn, Alexa Adams and Cyera Hintzen each scored in the win. Adams and Hintzen each had an assist as well.
Haley Berg made plays for Texas as she helped set up two goals for the Longhorns.
The Buffaloes hadn’t allowed a goal all season but ended up allowing two in the first 25 minutes against the Horns.
“It’s just a credit to the players,” head coach Angela Kelly said in a Texas press release. “They’ve been working so hard in training. They’re doing the right things on and off the field. It really pleases me that they get this small reward, but our next match is Sunday.”
Texas hasn’t allowed a goal in 349 minutes and 11 seconds of playing time. The win Friday made it three straight clean sheets for the Longhorns.
The win was the first against a ranked opponent at home since 2014. They defeated No. 16 Texas Tech 1-0 in overtime that year.
Glenn started things off for Texas as she converted from 18 yards away in the 14th minute.
Adams doubled the lead on a tap in from eight yards away in the 25th minute.
The Longhorns went up three goals just after halftime as Hintzen scored from 15 yards out in the 48th minute.
The loss dropped the Buffaloes 4-1-2 on the season.
In addition to providing scoring opportunities for the Longhorns, Berg took four shots of her own to lead Texas. Hintzen and Glenn each had two shots apiece as Texas outshot Colorado 12-10. Five of Texas’ shots were on goal to just two for the Buffaloes.
Nicole Curry wasn’t tested much, making just two saves on the night for the Longhorns.
