Texas men’s golf team finishes fourth at Trinity Forest Invitational

Steven Chervony shot a 66 in the final round of the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas to lead the Texas men’s golf team to a fourth place finish.

The Longhorns shot 847, 5 under par, recording a 279 in the final round. Florida shot 835 to finish 17 under par to take the win.

Chervony made birdie on five out of six holes at one point and recorded an eagle on the day. He finished the round with seven pars in a row to finish at 5 under par. Chervony tied for 36th after shooting 217 overall, finishing 4 over par.

Doug Ghim led the Longhorns overall as he shot a 69 for the second straight round to finish at 210, 3 under par. He finished tied for eighth  on the individual leaderboard.

Spencer Soosman finished in a tie for 24th after shooting a 71 in the final round.

Kristoffer Reitan and Scottie Scheffler also tied for 36th. Reitan carded a 73 on Tuesday while Scheffler shot 78.

Justin Suh of Southern Cal won the event after shooting 203, 10 under par.
