Texas women’s golf team claims Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational

The Texas women’s golf team shot 298, 10 over par to seal a 15-stroke win at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational at the UT Golf Club Tuesday. It was the Longhorns’ eighth victory at the tournament and their first since 2011.

Sophia Schubert and Emilee Hoffman finished 1-2 to lead the Longhorns. Schubert shot 71 on the day to finish at 210, 6 under par to become the first UT individual winner at the event since 2011. Hoffman followed up her second-round 67 with a 76 to take second place at 2 under par.

As a team the Longhorns finished at 866, 2 over par. Furman took second place at 17 over par. Arizona State was third at 18 over par.


The Texas State Bobcats shot 913 in the tournament and tied for 13th at 49 over par.

Kaitlyn Papp took the third-best finish among Longhorns, shooting 221 for 5 over par and a tie for 16th.

Greta Voelker shot 222, 6 over par to finish tied for 18th.

Maren Cipolla competed as an individual and took a share of 24th place after shooting 223, 7 over par.

Agathe Laisne finished in a tie for 28th after shooting 77 on the day. She finished at 8-over-par 224.

Maddie Luitwieler shot an 11-over, 227. She competed as an individual and was good for a tie for 35th.

Kelly Xac, competing as an individual, shot 247 for the tournament to tie for 78th at 31 over par.
