Longhorns advance at ITA Texas Regional

Three Longhorns advanced at the ITA Texas Regional in College Station on Saturday. Both Texas doubles teams advanced to the semifinals.

Harrison Scott defeated Joao Ceolin of UTSA 6-3, 6-3 to move to the round of 16. There he defeated Constantin Frantzen of Baylor 6-4, 7-5.

Leonardo Telles also took two wins on the day. He topped Alex Sandegeya of Texas Tech 7-5, 6-2 before defeating Sebastian Santibanez of Lamar 6-4, 6-2.

John Mee was the only other Longhorn to advance out of the round of 16. He beat Artem Kapshuk of Texas Tech 6-1, 6-2 and followed it up with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Jonathan Sheehy of Abilene Christian.

Colin Markes won his round of 32 match, but fell in the round of 16 to Alastair Gray of TCU, 6-2, 6-2.

Rodrigo Banzer and Telles topped Kai Breitbach and Ceolin of UTSA 8-1 in the doubles quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Markes and Adrian Ortiz beat Alastair Gray and Reese Stalder of TCU 8-5.
