Texas doubles team earns fifth at Roberta Alison Fall Classic

Katie Poluta and Dani Wagland won twice on Saturday to earn fifth place at the Roberta Alison Fall Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Poluta and Wagland won 6-1 over Ellie Gerlach and Roos van der Zwaan of Samford in the doubles consolation final. The Texas duo also defeated Magda Adaloglou and Khrystyna Vozniak of Mississippi State 6-4 in the semifinals.

Poluta also competed in one of the singles draw finals, falling to Andie Daniell of Alabama 6-1, 6-0.

Wagland fell in her third-place match of another singles draw, 6-2, 6-2 to Fernanda Navarro of Clemson.

Wagland and Marta Perez-Mur will team up next week at the ITA National Fall Championships at Indian Wells. Bianca Turati and Petra Granic will also compete at the event in singles competition.
