On the way to a four-set win over Texas Tech at Gregory Gym Saturday, Chiaka Ogbogu of the Texas volleyball team became the all-time career block assist leader for the Longhorns.

Ogbogu had eight block assists as Texas defeated Texas Tech 25-19, 20-25, 25-21, 25-12 to remain undefeated in Big 12 action. The senior’s total rose to 460, surpassing Molly McCage. Ogbogu made kills and led Texas with a hitting percentage of .500.

The Longhorns started the contest with a strong defensive effort. An 11-6 run helped them take a 20-15 lead before closing out the set.

Tech put up a fight, however, as they built a 24-20 lead and were able to close out the set. It was the first Big 12 set that Texas lost at Gregory Gym after 13 straight wins to open the season.

A kill by Sun in the third set put Texas up 6-1. She had nine kills in the set to lead Texas to the win.

A 6-1 lead to start the fourth set helped Texas cruise to a 25-12 win to seal the match.
