Haley Berg named to Freshman Best XI second team

Texas freshman midfielder Haley Berg earned a spot on the Top Drawer Soccer Division I National Freshman Best XI second team, according to a release by the organization Tuesday.

Berg has already earned honors from the United Soccer Coaches and the Big 12. The United Soccer Coaches named her to the All-South region first team. The Big 12 named Berg the freshman of the year and added her to the All-Big 12 second team. She also made the Big 12 All-Freshman team.

Berg scored three match-winning goals and scored six overall on the year. She added 10 assists for a total of 16 points on the year.


Another Longhorn earned an honor for her work on and off the field a day later. Katie Glenn, a junior midfielder, was named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I women’s scholar All-West region first team.

Glenn recorded a 3.4 GPA while scoring five goals and amassing 13 points for the Longhorns. She also earned a spot on the All-Big 12 first team.
