Four divers qualify for finals at USA Diving Winter Nationals

Four Texas divers qualified for the finals at the USA Diving Winter National Championships in Greensboro, N.C., on Friday.

Jordan Windle qualified for Sunday’s men’s platform final as the top seed. He scored 852.55 points to lead the 10-man semifinal, recording the best dive of the meet on his first attempt. Windle received 9s or better from all seven judges on his inward 3½ somersault. The dive totaled 86.40 points.

Jacob Cornish also qualified in the event with 574.45 points. He finished the semifinal in eighth place.


On the women’s side, Meghan O’Brien and Murphy Bromberg both qualified for the 3-meter final.

O’Brien finished the semifinals in 10th place with 493.20 points. Bromberg took the 12th and last qualifying spot with 474.80 points. The two will compete in the event final Sunday.

Alison Gibson finished the competition in 14th place with 467.20 points.
