The Dotted Line: The Week 11 guide to watch Texas commits

The final week of the regular season takes place in Texas while the Longhorns’ out-of-state commits start or continue a march toward a state title. Four-star linebacker commit De’Gabriel Floyd’s season ended in the first round of the playoffs last week in California. Each of the other 19 commitments in the 2019 class are in action, as are both 2020 pledges.
The in-state commits
Conroe Oak Ridge at Conroe
Where: Buddy Moorehead Stadium
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Commits: Tyler Johnson, four-star offensive tackle (Oak Ridge)
Conroe Oak Ridge is 3-4 in district play heading into the final game of the season.
Cuero at Wimberley
Where: Texan Stadium
When: Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Commits: Jordan Whittington, four-star wide receiver
Whittington’s averaged 16.7 yards on 23 catches since returning from injury to start district play. He’s scored on two of his nine rushing attempts. Oh, and he’s also scored on an interception and as a returner. A win over Wimberley clinches a district title for Cuero.
Odessa Permian at Midland Lee
Where: Grande Communications Stadium
When: Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Commits: Peyton Powell, four-star athlete
Texas’ latest 2019 commitment starts at quarterback for Permian. The Panthers are 4-0 in district play.
Huntsville vs. Rudder
Where: Huntsville Stadium
When: Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Commits: T’Vondre Sweat, three-star defensive end (Huntsville)
Huntsville is playing like a district defensive MVP for the 8-1 Huntsville squad, which should clinch a district title on Friday.
Plano East at Dallas Jesuit
Where: Tom Kimbrough Stadium
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Commits: Tyler Owens, four-star safety (Plano East)
Plano East moved to 4-2 in district last week with a win over Plano West to become playoff-bound with the season finale against Dallas Jesuit left.
Temple vs. Waco Midway
Where: Wildcat Stadium
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Commits: Jared Wiley, three-star tight end (Temple)
Wiley and his Temple teammates dropped their first game of the season last week to Waco Midway. Wiley is the team’s starting quarterback and will enroll early at Texas.
Katy Cinco Ranch vs. Katy Seven Lakes
Where: Legacy Stadium
When: Friday, 6:30 p.m.
Commits: David Gbenda, four-star linebacker (Cinco Ranch)
The linebacker commit recorded 73 tackles, including 14 for loss, in his first nine games. Cinco Ranch is 3-6 and 3-2 in district play.
Port Neches-Groves vs. Nederland
Where: Indian Stadium
When: Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Commits: Roschon Johnson, four-star quarterback (Port Neches-Groves)
The four-star quarterback became his high school’s all-time leading passer in the win over Dayton three weeks ago. His team will reach the playoffs no matter the outcome on Friday.
Richmond George Ranch vs. Pearland
Where: Traylor Stadium
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Commits: Peter Mpagi, three-star defensive end (George Ranch)
George Ranch is 4-5 this season. No defensive stats were available.
Houston North Forest vs. Houston Yates
Where: Cowart Stadium
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Commits: Javonne Shepherd, four-star offensive tackle (North Forest)
North Forest is 2-6 on the season.
Alvin at Dickinson
Where: Sam Vitanza Stadium
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Commits: Marques Caldwell, three-star cornerback
Caldwell missed most of the season with a shoulder injury. He’s returning for his final game as a prep player. Alvin is 0-9.
The out-of-state commits
Mayfair (Calif.) at Pacifica (Calif.)
Where: Pacifica High School (Calif.)
When: Friday, 7 p.m. Pacific
Commits: Chris Adimora, four-star safety (Mayfair)
Adimora stars on offense and defense for Mayfair. His team faces Pacifica in the second round of the state playoffs.
Scottsdale (Ariz.) Notre Dame Prep vs. Millennium (Ariz.)
Where: Goodyear (Ariz.)
When: Friday, 7 p.m. Mountain
Commits: Jake Smith, four-star wide receiver (Notre Dame)
Smith has 715 yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground and 44 receptions for 958 yards and 20 touchdowns on the season. Notre Dame Prep is 11-0 entering its second-round contest.
Grayson (Ga.) vs. South Forsyth (Ga.)
Where: Grayson
When: Friday, 7:30 p.m. Eastern
Commits: Kenyatta Watson II, four-star cornerback (Grayson)
Watson and his Grayson teammates are 8-2 entering the first round of the Georgia state playoffs. Watson had 27 tackles, an interception and two forced fumbles in nine games.
Chandler (Ariz.) vs. Mountain Point (Ariz.)
Where: Phoenix (Ariz.)
When: Saturday, 7 p.m. Mountain
Commits: Brayden Liebrock, four-star tight end (Chandler)
Chandler is on a 10-game winning streak after opening with a loss to Centennial (Calif.) in a neutral-site game. Liebrock has 45 catches for 570 yards and six touchdowns in 11 games. This is the second round of the playoffs.
Jones (Fla.) vs. Bishop Moore (Fla.)
Where: Jones High School
When: Friday, 7:30 p.m. Eastern
Commits: Marcus Tillman Jr., three-star outside linebacker (Wekiva)
Jones is 8-1. Defensive stats were not available for Tillman. Jones is hosting for the first round of the state playoffs.
Millwood (Okla.) at Dickson (Okla.)
Where: Millwood High School
When: Friday, 7:30 p.m. Central
Commits: Demariyon Houston, four-star wide receiver (Millwood)
Millwood is the defending Class 2A Oklahoma state champions and is 10-0 entering the playoffs.
Buford (Ga.) vs. Miller Grove (Ga.)
Where: Buford Stadium
When: Friday, 7:30 p.m. Eastern
Commits: Derrian Brown, four-star running back (Buford)
Buford is 8-2 entering the playoffs. No stats available.
Trinity Catholic (Mo.) vs. St. Charles West (Mo.)
Where: St. Louis, Mo.
When: Friday, 7 p.m. Central
Commits: Marcus Washington, four-star wide receiver
Trinity Catholic finished the regular season at 8-2 and reached the second round of the playoffs with a win last week. Washington averaged nearly 17 yards a catch on a team-high 24 receptions in the regular season.
The 2020 commitments
Lake Travis vs. Anderson
Where: Cavalier Stadium
When: 7:30 p.m., Friday
Commits: Hudson Card, four-star quarterback (Lake Travis)
Card and his Cavaliers are 8-1. He’s completed 71 percent of his passes for 1,384 yards and 21 touchdowns, adding 415 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground through nine games.
San Antonio O’Connor @ San Antonio Stevens
Where: Gustafson Stadium
When: 7:30 p.m., Friday
Commits: Logan Parr, four-star offensive lineman
