The Dotted Line: Week 2 guide to watching Texas commits in action

The football season began in earnest last week with Texas high school football beginning and college football in its first week. Every Texas commit in the 2020 and 2021 classes are in action at some point this weekend, starting Thursday night. Here is a guide for watching the future Longhorns in action across the state.
2020 commits
Fifteen of Texas’ 18 pledges in the 2020 class play high school football in Texas. This is Week 1 for each of those players as the road to a state championship begins throughout the state. Game times range from Thursday night to Saturday night.

Out of state commits
Three of Texas’ 18 pledges in the 2020 class hail from out of state.Van Fillinger (Utah) and Robinson (Ariz.) are part of defending state championship teams. Robinson, a five-star running back from Arizona, and Ethan Pouncey, a four-star from Florida, are expected in Austin on Saturday night for the LSU game.

Seven juniors are committed to Texas entering Week 2 of the Texas high school football schedule. Only six will be in action, however, with tight end Lake McRee out for the season with a knee injury.
