Texas secured the doubles point as senior Christian Sigsgaard and freshman Siem Woldeab took a 6-1 win over the Golden Hurricane’s Juan Pablo Cenoz and Stefan Hampe, and sophomore Chih Chi Huang and senior Yuya Ito topped Daniel Siddall and Ezequiel Santalla 6-3.
Sigsgaard, Woldeab, Ito, Eliot Spizzirri and Evin McDonald all won in singles for UT.
Ito, ranked second in the nation, swept No. 61 Kody Pearson 6-2, 6-4. That put him in sole possession of fifth place in career singles wins at Texas with 110.
Sigsgaard, ranked sixth, overcame Stefan Hampe 7-6 (5), 6-3. That tied him for 10th all-time at 104 singles wins.
Woldeab, ranked 44th, held off Connor Di Marco 6-4, 7-5; Spizzirri polished off Jarod Hing 6-3, 6-3; and McDonald edged Juan Pablo Cenoz 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.
UT will return to action at noon Saturday against ninth-ranked Columbia at the Texas Tennis Center.
