Fort Bend Dulles offensive tackle Isaiah Hookfin remains an unknown character in Texas’ 2019 recruiting class. The four-star arrived late on the recruiting scene, picking up an offer from the Longhorns on Nov. 3. The 6-5, 270-pound prospect signed with Texas on the last day of the early signing period and is a key member to a three-man offensive line class for Tom Herman’s program.

Yet we don’t know a ton about the No. 43-ranked member of the 2019 Fabulous 55. He’s a long, athletic player with raw talent that assistant coach Herb Hand hopes to mold for the future.

At what age did you fall in love with football?

In eighth grade, I hit someone for the first time in pads and never looked back to baseball or basketball.

What made Texas your choice?

The vibe and the coaching staff are awesome and I didn’t experience that anywhere else.

What was the toughest part of the recruiting process?

The noise put on you by everyone talking about where I should go instead of of waiting on me to make my decision.

What excites you most about college?

To explore my process of becoming an adult.

What word would you use to describe Tom Herman?

Leader.

What is your role as a Longhorn?

I would describe my future role as a physical leader rather than a verbal leader. I’ll play offensive tackle.

What artist would you most like to see live?

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

Favorite movie?

“Biker Boyz.”

Favorite athlete of all-time?

Jonathan Ogden.

Favorite sport to watch other than football?

Any type of racing. I’ve always loved muscle cars.
