Jordan Windle, an incoming freshman for Texas, won the men’s platform diving final with 425.70 points at the USA Diving National Championships Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.
Windle won the competition by more than 20 points. His best dive came on his third attempt, a forward four-and-a-half somersault. He earned a meet-best 85.10 on the effort.
It was Windle’s third title of the meet but his first at the senior level. He won junior national gold medals in the three-meter and platform competitions. Windle also took second in the men’s three-meter final on Friday.
Jacob Cornish, a sophomore at UT, finished in fifth place with 360.95 points.
On the women’s side, Meghan O’Brien and Alison Gibson each finished in the top-10 of the three-meter final.
O’Brien took seventh with 260.10 points while Gibson finished in 10th with 250.35 points. Earlier in the week Gibson won the women’s one-meter title.
