It seems like all the recruiting focus right now is on national signing day next week, but schools across the country already are working hard on prospects for the 2021 class. (Rodolfo Gonzalez/American-Statesman file)

Scouting the Fabulous 55: No. 20, safety Jordan Moore

His brother has moved to Florida, so Yoakum's hopes of another Class 3A title game rest with Moore, a do-it-all 4-star standout.

Scouting Moore: He might not receive the same attention of his twin brother Joshua, now at IMG Academy in Florida, but that doesn’t mean Jordan doesn’t hold his own among the state’s elite. He plays multiple positions at Yoakum. He’s spent time as the Bulldogs’ quarterback, wide receiver, running back, safety and cornerback. He also returns kicks. As a prospect, Moore projects as a safety in college and he’s committed to Texas A&M. He’ll play his senior season at Yoakum despite Joshua’s move to Florida.

If not for Joshua, Jordan would be the best player on the field each time out for Yoakum, a Class 3A program. The Bulldogs reached the Division I state championship game in 2016, but it’ll be up to Jordan to help duplicate that result by himself this season. He’s a physical player with a high competitive streak and good athleticism for a safety prospect. His time spent at other positions means he’ll be raw early in his career, but it also shows he’s capable of grasping multiple concepts and schemes. Former quarterbacks tend to understand defense and Moore can use that experience to expedite his growth at safety.
