Watch live: Oklahoma State men's basketball team hold press conference on NCAA denial

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State’s appeal of the NCAA sanctions suspending the men’s basketball team from the postseason was denied Wednesday morning, The Oklahoman confirmed.

The Action Network first reported the denial. OSU has a news conference scheduled for 11 a.m.

Oklahoma State was punished by the NCAA 17 months ago with a one-year postseason ban, a three-year probation  and the loss of three scholarships over three seasons along with several other recruiting penalties.

The Cowboys immediately appealed the ruling, and were allowed to play in the NCAA Tournament last season due to the pending appeal.

The punishment resulted from an investigation that ruled former OSU associate coach Lamont Evans accepted bribes from 2016-17 to influence student-athletes.
