Arch Manning update: How the five-star quarterback played on Friday against Pearl River
Manning — the No. 1 player in the nation in the Class of 2023 — threw for a season-high 303 yards and five touchdowns, also rushing for 47 yards.
Tight end Will Randle and wide receiver Christopher Hunter were Manning's top two targets on the night.
Randle — who has offers from LSU, Texas and Florida State — caught nine balls for 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Hunter had five catches for 70 yards and two more touchdowns.
After Friday's game, Manning attended Alabama's 42-21 win over Ole Miss in Tuscaloosa. The visit was his second trip to a collegiate game this season.
On Sept. 18, Manning attended Georgia's lopsided home win against South Carolina. He is scheduled to attend Texas' matchup against Oklahoma State in Austin on Oct. 16, Ole Miss' home matchup vs. LSU (when his uncle Eli will have his jersey retired ) on Oct. 23 and when Clemson hosts Florida State on Oct. 30.
Manning made visits to LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas, Clemson, Georgia and SMU over the summer.
Newman improves to 3-0 on the season following the win. The Greenies defeated Metairie Country Day and Vandebilt Catholic in its first two games.
Newman did not play in Week 1 or 2 due to Hurricane Ida related issues.
