Second quarter

Halftime: Kansas State 14, Texas 7. For the second time this season, the Longhorns scored on a flea-flicker. It was Collin Johnson’s first touchdown since the season opener. Texas converted a fourth down on the drive. Two Kansas State drives that reached into UT territory were snuffed — Brandon Jones forced a fumble and a B.J. Foster/Ta’Quon Graham sack on third down took away a possible field goal try.

Texas: Collin Johnson 21-yard pass from Sam Ehlinger (Dicker kick, 12:03)

Third quarter

Texas 17, Kansas State 14. The Wildcats were shut down in the third, managing only 29 yards and no points.Texas, meanwhile, put up 10 points and could have had more had Ehlinger not thrown an interception into triple coverage in the end zone.

Texas: Dicker 36-yard field goal (9:02)

Fourth quarter

Final: Texas 27, Kansas State 24. Jones’ 53-yard punt return set the Horns up at Kansas State’s 21-yard line, which Ingram converted into a touchdown three plays later. But that 24-14 lead was short-lived; the Wildcats took the ensuing kickoff 98 yards to make it 24-21. The Wildcats tied it up 24-24, but a pair of key Ehlinger-to-Devin Duvernay completions helped the final drive turn into the game-winning drive. The Horns worked the clock at the end and let Dicker win it.

Texas: Ingram 12-yard run (Dicker kick, 12:17)

Kansas State: Joshua Youngblood 98-yard kickoff return (Lynch kick, 12:03)
