A look at how it all happened Saturday:

First quarter

Texas 7, TCU 6. A Tre Watson touchdown run — set up by a key fourth-down completion by Collin Johnson — gave Texas its first lead over TCU since 2013. The Longhorns had another shot at points in the quarter, but Cameron Dicker’s 42-yard field goal attempt was off. He made two 46-yarders last week. TCU had to settle for a pair of field goals.

TCU: Jonathan Song 46-yard field goal, 11:52

Texas: Tre Watson 3-yard run (Cameron Dicker kick, 4:09)

TCU: Song 23-yard field goal, 1:34

Second quarter

Halftime: TCU 13, Texas 10. There were only two scores in the quarter. Lots of defense, not a lot of offense. Texas’ drives ended with a punt, a field goal, a turnover on downs and another punt. Still, Texas appeared to be in control until just before the half; Gary Patterson rolled the dice on third-and-goal from the 1 with 10 seconds left and no timeouts. It paid off with a touchdown that put the Frogs back on top at the break.

Texas: Dicker 34-yard field goal, 10:10

TCU: Shawn Robinson 1-yard pass to Jalen Reagor (Song kick, :06)

Third quarter

Texas 24, TCU 16. Needing a spark on offense, Texas turned to its defense. The Horns forced three turnovers — picks from Brandon Jones and Caden Sterns and a Jones fumble recovery. Those last two turnovers set up touchdowns (a Johnson diving catch and an Ehlinger run). The quarter wasn’t perfect, however: Dicker missed his second field goal of the game, from 43 yards out.

TCU: Song 29-yard field goal, 8:44

Texas: Collin Johnson 31-yard pass from Sam Ehlinger (Dicker kick, :45)

Texas: Ehlinger 2-yard run (Dicker kick, :28)

Fourth quarter

Final: Texas 31, TCU 16. Davante Davis made a big pass breakup inside the 5-yard line on third-and-long from Texas’ 24; Song’s 46-yard field goal try to make it a 24-19 game was off the mark. A 38-yard touchdown pass to Lil’Jordan Humphrey with 3 minutes left pretty much ended things.

Texas: Humphrey 38-yard pass from Ehlinger (Dicker kick, 3:18)
