Both of Texas’ new football coordinators will get roughly the same amount of total money as their predecessors, according to contract information submitted to the UT System Board of Regents.

Next week, UT regents will approve a three-year contract for offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich worth approximately $1.7 million guaranteed. Defensive coordinator Chris Ash will receive a two-year deal worth $800,000 guaranteed.

The contract information was posted Friday in the UT regents’ upcoming agenda book. The regents are scheduled to meet next Wednesday and Thursday.

Those financial totals are similar to what former defensive coordinator Todd Orlando and offensive coordinator Tim Beck received for the 2019 season, except the totals were flipped. Orlando received $1.7 million in 2019 while Beck received $800,000

Ash’s overall total is lower because he is still receiving buyout money from his previous employer. Rutgers fired Ash last September as the team’s head coach after compiling an 8-32 record. At the time, Ash was still owed $8.47 million, according to reports.

New tight ends coach Jay Boulware will be getting a three-year deal worth $700,000 guaranteed from Texas. Linebackers coach Coleman Hutzler will get a two-year deal worth $600,000 guaranteed, assuming UT regents approve all the line items.

Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte declined comment Friday. He typically does not comment on any athletics-related agenda items going before the UT regents.
