Longhorns diving team adds more event qualifiers for NCAA Championships

Longhorns diving team members Mark Anderson and Jacob Cornish each qualified for the NCAA Championships in the men’s platform diving event in Columbia, Mo. on Wednesday.

Sofia Rauzi also qualified for the women’s platform event.

Cornish, who won the Big 12 Championship in the event, finished the Zone D diving meet in seventh place with 695.25 points while Anderson took 10th with 648.65 points.


Anderson will compete in all three diving events at the NCAA Championships. Grayson Campbell will compete in the one-meter and and three-meter events in Indianapolis.

Anderson, Cornish and freshman diver Campbell will travel with 15 swimmers to the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis beginning March 22.

Rauzi, the Big 12’s platform champion, finished in ninth place at the Zone D meet, scoring 485.15 points on her way to her first NCAA Championship berth. She joins Alison Gibson and Meghan O’Brien as diving qualifiers for the NCAA Championships. The trio alongside 10 swimmers will represent Texas at the women’s championships beginning on March 15.
