Murphy Bromberg goes back-to-back at Texas Hall of Fame Diving Invitational

Murphy Bromberg made it back-to-back platform diving championships at the Texas Hall of Fame Diving Invitational at the Jamail Texas Swimming Center on Friday.

Bromberg earned 271.40 points in the finals to repeat as the event champion. Her best score of the day came on an inward 3½ somersault tuck that gave her 72.00 points. She averaged 54.28 points per round on the way to beating second-place Alais Kalonji of Texas A&M.

Jordan Windle took third place in the men’s platform event. He finished with 463.50 points and trailed first place Brandon Loschiavo of Purdue and defending NCAA champion Zhipeng Zeng of Tennessee.


The women’s team won two of the three events at the invitational as Alison Gibson took the 1-meter event on Thursday. Windle accounted for the only win for the men, winning the 3-meter event Thursday. He added a second-place finish in the 1-meter competition Wednesday.
