Reid Taylor has decided that he’ll wear burnt — not bright — orange in college.
Taylor announced on Sunday that he has given the baseball team at Texas a verbal commitment. A 6-2 right-handed pitcher, Taylor currently attends Woden High in East Texas.
Taylor had originally committed to Sam Houston State.
Extremely blessed to announce my commitment to attend the University of Texas. I would like to say thank you to my parents, coaches, teammates, and the Lord who has led me to this moment. I am looking forward to what the future holds and what plans God has for me. #HookEm🤘🏻 pic.twitter.com/ifrYeW4m5q

This past season, Taylor made the second team of the TSWA’s all-state team. Fellow UT commit Jared Kelley, a right-hander from Refugio, was a first-team honoree.
Taylor is the 11th member of UT’s 2020 recruiting class. Nine of the future Longhorns are in-state prospects.
