Texas junior pitcher Bryce Elder was named a second-team All-American by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper on Tuesday.
Elder was joined on the second team by TCU reliever Haylen Green. Texas Tech also placed closer Micah Dallas and infielder Brian Klein on the second team. No Big 12 athletes were honored on Collegiate Baseball Newspaper’s first team.

Elder made only four starts for Texas (14-3) during the abbreviated 2020 season. Over those four appearances, Elder went 2-1 with a 2.08 ERA and 32 strikeouts. Elder went at least six innings in each of his starts. He recorded double-digit strikeouts against Boise State and No. 11 LSU.
For his career, Elder is 10-6 with a 3.42 ERA and 149 strikeouts. The right-hander from Decatur was used as a reliever during his first year on campus. He then became UT’s Friday starter in 2019 and 2020. Elder is eligible for the five-round MLB draft that is set for next month.
