Texas runner Sam Worley finished 27th at the NCAA Cross-Country Championships, highlighting the men’s day at the event in Terre Haute, Ind. on Saturday.
Worly finished the 10,000 meters in 31 minutes, 12.4 seconds. Teammate John Rice finished in 31:50.0 for 83rd place.
Edwin Kurgat of Iowa State won the men’s race in 30:32.7.
Destiny Collins had the best time in the women’s event, the 6,000 meters. Collins finished the race in 21:27.9 for 129th place.
Weini Kelati of New Mexico won in 19:47.5.
BYU took the men’s title for the first time, ending Northern Arizona’s three-year reign. The Longhorns’ men’s team finished 25th.
The Arkansas Razorbacks won the women’s title, preventing a BYU sweep. The Texas women finished 30th.
